Mavis Tires & Brakes

If there were more stars to give, I’d give them all. This place, especially Tom, is wonderful! I went to a different location and had issues and this location was my saving grace. I came back here for an oil change and was given a very detailed (and well explained) update on the health and maintenance of my vehicle without being pushed into doing anything. I’ll be coming here from now on; HIGHLY recommend!

I was away from home and discovered a nail in my tire when my low tire sensor went off. I searched for somewhare that was open on a Sunday and stopped by Mavis Tires on 6th Avenue. Tom and his team were awesome. They were professional, courteous, fixed my problem and got me on the road quickly. Truly a blessing for not having to deal with a flat tire in over 100 degree heat index.

Went today to get a tire patched. It was easy to make an appointment online and everyone was very friendly at the shop. Told the guys I had bought my current tires from them but they weren’t able to find my purchase in their system so they offered to patch my tire for free. They were pretty busy but they got me in and out as fast as they could.

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. If I could give 0 stars I would. On March 3, 2026, I paid Mavis $882.37 for brake services. On April 12, 2026, while driving with my son, those brakes completely failed, putting both of our lives in severe, immediate danger. I had to have the vehicle towed on a flatbed. On April 13, 2026, I went into the Mavis location on 6th Avenue in Birmingham with photographic evidence of the failure, reasonably expecting an apology and assistance. Instead, the staff was completely dismissive. They told me, "The brake pads and rotors are intact," claimed that "brake lines fail all the time," and stated that Mavis is "not responsible for brake lines." I have an audio recording of this entire encounter proving exactly what was said. I subsequently took the vehicle to an independent, third-party Master Mechanic (Hoover Automotive) for a post-incident diagnostic. Their official report explicitly proves that Mavis’s 6th Avenue staff was lying to cover up their own gross negligence. The mechanic found that parts were left completely detached and upper caliper bolts were left loose by Mavis. This was not a spontaneous brake line failure; it was direct mechanical negligence by yo

I had the misfortune of experiencing a tire blowout and needed to leave town for a funeral. I was stuck with only a donut spare and needed help quickly. Tom and Chad were fantastic. They got me taken care of fast, were courteous and professional throughout the entire process, and made everything easy and stress-free during a difficult day. Their excellent service helped me get back on the road when I really needed it. Thank you, Tom and Chad—I truly appreciate your help and highly recommend them to anyone needing reliable, friendly service.
